NAO Robot Presented as an Innovative Tool in Geography Education in Varaždin County

On 12 December 2025, geography teacher Danijela Perenc-Jaušovec and ICT teacher Ivana Ružić, both from the First Primary School Čakovec, were guest speakers at a professional meeting of geography teachers and secondary school educators held at the Sixth Primary School Varaždin.

During the meeting, they presented innovative examples of using the humanoid robot NAO in geography teaching. The presentation focused on how educational robotics can enrich geography lessons by increasing student engagement, supporting inquiry-based learning, and connecting geographical content with digital competencies.

Through practical examples and classroom experiences, the teachers demonstrated how NAO can be integrated into geography topics such as environmental studies, spatial exploration, and global issues, encouraging interaction, curiosity, and active participation among students.

The presentation sparked great interest among participants and initiated professional discussion on the role of modern technology in geography education. The event highlighted the importance of sharing good practice and innovative approaches, as well as the contribution of the First Primary School Čakovec to the development of contemporary, technology-enhanced teaching.
