Faculty Members and Students from the University of Zagreb Visit I. Primary School Čakovec: Innovative Workshop on AI and Robotics in Geography Education

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, I. Primary School Čakovec had the pleasure of hosting Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ružica Vuk, who teaches geography teaching methodology at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, along with Dr. Ivan Ivić, senior teaching assistant, and a group of 2nd- and 4th-year geography-history teaching major students.

The visitors took part in interactive workshops led by teachers Danijela Perenc-Jaušovec and Ivana Ružić, held with students from class 7.d. The workshops showcased how artificial intelligence, the humanoid robot NAO, and virtual reality can be applied in geography lessons to create a more innovative, engaging, and transformative learning experience.

Through the integration of modern technologies, the geography classroom is becoming a space that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving in a digital environment. Students actively participate in shaping their own learning, making the process dynamic and student-centered.

This visit served as an inspiring exchange of ideas between the academic community and primary education, highlighting the potential of technology to enhance and modernize teaching practices.
