NAO – The Star of Digital Technology Day at I. Primary School Čakovec

On Wednesday, May 8th, I. Primary School Čakovec became a hub of digital innovation and excitement, with the humanoid robot NAO taking center stage. The school’s Digital Technology Day brought together students, teachers, parents, grandparents, and guests including collaborators from the Čakovec Center for Upbringing and Education and the VI. Primary School Varaždin.

NAO, an AI-powered humanoid robot, was the highlight of the event. During the workshops, NAO demonstrated how intelligent technology can enhance classroom learning. It interacted with students, answered questions, and encouraged critical thinking through engaging conversations. Pupils were fascinated by the robot’s abilities and discovered how it can be integrated into lessons in geography, languages, and STEM to make learning more dynamic and interactive.

Visitors also had the chance to explore virtual reality with VR headsets, interact with various educational robots and smart toys, and take part in hands-on technology workshops. Still, it was NAO who captured the most attention and admiration from all generations from curious children to their proud grandparents.

Digital Technology Day proved that learning with robots and artificial intelligence is no longer a vision of the future—it is our present. NAO showed that technology can be a teacher, a conversation partner, and a motivator, helping to create more innovative, engaging, and student-centered education for the 21st century.
