Exploratory Geography Lesson with the NAO Robot at First Primary School Čakovec
In collaboration between teachers Danijela Perenc-Jaušovec and Ivana Ružić, students at the First Primary School Čakovec took part in an exploratory geography lesson supported by the humanoid robot NAO. Together, they embarked on a research expedition through the world’s largest forest.
Through a series of interactive tasks, students discovered the forest’s unique characteristics, its importance for the environment, and the challenges it faces today. The lesson encouraged active learning and inquiry, allowing students to deepen their understanding of geographical and environmental topics in an engaging way.
By combining knowledge, teamwork, and technology, the lesson created a dynamic learning experience, with NAO acting as a curious guide throughout the activities. The classroom atmosphere reflected a sense of adventure and discovery, highlighting the value of innovative teaching approaches in geography education.
