BHT Hosts Second Partner Meeting of the Erasmus+ Project MyRobot MyLearnmate

From June 30 to July 1, 2025, the second transnational partner meeting of the European education project MyRobot MyLearnmate took place at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT). Funded by the European Commission under Erasmus+, the project brings together partner institutions from Portugal, Poland, Croatia, and Germany to advance the use of humanoid robots in education.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the project’s progress, discuss results from the initial work packages, and plan the next steps in developing practice-oriented training programs for teachers.

A key focus was the presentation of the modular training concept for using the humanoid robot NAO in school learning environments. The discussions explored both pedagogical and technical perspectives, with particular attention to inclusive education and the development of cross-curricular competences in STEM subjects.

The project aims to make STEM teaching more innovative by integrating humanoid robots and artificial intelligence into classrooms. At its core is NAO, a humanoid robot designed to enhance student motivation and learning outcomes, foster problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity, and support teamwork.

Beyond STEM, the project emphasizes pressing global challenges such as climate change and education for sustainable development. Inclusion also plays a central role, as the consortium explores how NAO can support learners with special educational needs.

Together, universities and schools from the four partner countries are developing training materials for teachers as well as subject-specific teaching concepts. Partner schools are directly involved, testing the scenarios in real classroom settings. Accompanying research investigates the opportunities and challenges of human-robot interaction in education.

The project will culminate in an open-access repository of training materials, lesson scenarios, and didactic guidelines for teachers across Europe.
